1. Introduction

Welcome to Research for Development International (R4DI). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, services, and programs. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

R4DI is a non-profit organization founded in 2012, registered and operating under Cameroon's Law No. 90/053 of December 19, 1990. Our mission is to bridge the gap between research and practical implementation in global health and community development.

2. Use of Our Services

You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete information when interacting with our organization
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Complying with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations

3. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on this website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, research publications, reports, and software, is the property of R4DI or its content suppliers and is protected by international copyright laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or exploit any of our content without prior written permission from R4DI, except for personal, non-commercial use with proper attribution.

4. Research and Publications

R4DI produces research publications, policy briefs, and reports as part of our mission. When using or citing our research:

  • Proper attribution must be given to R4DI and the respective authors
  • Research findings should not be misrepresented or taken out of context
  • Commercial use of our research requires prior written consent
  • Any modifications or adaptations must be clearly indicated

5. Partnerships and Collaborations

R4DI collaborates with various national and international organizations, including government ministries, UN agencies, and NGOs. These partnerships are governed by separate agreements and do not create any third-party rights under these Terms.

6. Donations and Contributions

If you choose to make a donation or contribution to R4DI:

  • All donations are voluntary and non-refundable unless otherwise specified
  • Donations will be used in accordance with our organizational mission and donor intent where specified
  • We commit to transparency in the use of donated funds
  • Tax receipts will be provided in accordance with applicable laws

7. Privacy and Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. R4DI does not warrant that:

  • Any errors in our services will be corrected

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, R4DI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of our services.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless R4DI, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of our services or your violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to Terms

R4DI reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Cameroon.
